While focusing on a goal of overall health may make you feel like it is taking forever, the truth is the little extra time you invest in reaching a healthy lifestyle through nutritious eating and exercising will be time well spent. Isn’t that worth a couple of extra months to do it right?
Start Exercising. If you have never exercised, finding the motivation and drive to start is not easy. For every reason why you should exercise, you can probably find several so-called rational reasons as to why you can’t. Does “I don’t have time”, “I don’t know how”, “I just lack the motivation” sound familiar? They are what they sound like…excuses, and excuses won’t help you to better health. You have options when it comes to exercising. All you may need, in most cases, is a little support, and possibly a nudge, in the right direction.
Exercising does not necessarily mean you have to pump iron or jog on the treadmill for countless hours. It means getting up and moving for at least 30-minutes a day. You could walk around the neighborhood or the mall with a friend. You could join a yoga or Pilates class at the YMCA. If you like the privacy of your own home, purchase an exercise fitness tape and workout in your living room. You could even hire a personal trainer or join a gym. In short, you have options that can make exercising a little easier to master. You just need to find the one that works best for you and your lifestyle. Before you know it, exercising will become a habit that you will look forward to doing. No, seriously you will!
